French to English translation

My love of the French language began in secondary school and lead to me electing a languages degree at the University of Durham. The degree course consisted of modules in French language and translation as well as French politics and literature. During my degree I spent three months working as an English tutor in Strasbourg while completing a French language course with the Alliance Française. I also carried out project work into the role of Strasbourg within the EU.

After completing my degree I went on to study a PGCE to teach languages at secondary school level. After four years I became Second in Department with responsibility for A-level languages. Whilst teaching I had the desire to continue my own education and consequently embarked upon my MA in Translation where I took a specialised module in French to English translation including modules in legal, business, financial, culturally-specific and technical translations.

I have also spent time travelling in France and visited Paris, Nice, Carcassonne, Clermont-Ferrand, Pays de la Loire, and Normandy as well as French-speaking Switzerland and Monaco.
